According to the Public Health Agency of Canada the risk to Canadians and travelers presented by coronavirus remains low at this time.
As part of an ongoing response to coronavirus and to ensure provincial coordination of response, effective Monday, February 3, 2020, Manitoba will activate a joint Incident Management & Communicable Disease Response to Coronavirus.
This response will be jointly led by Manitoba Health, Seniors & Active Living and Shared Health with the participation of Service Delivery Organizations including Interlake-Eastern RHA. Our regional representatives participating in daily operations calls will be Marion Ellis, vice president of acute care and chief nursing officer as deputy lead and Shannon Montgomery, regional director of public health, as operational lead.
The Province has established a publicly accessible coronavirus website that is updated regularly. Starting next week, every Thursday a bulletin on coronavirus status will be distributed publicly. Read the update distributed this week.
