Both Monoclonal Antibody Treatments and Oral and Infusion Antiviral Treatments are available in Manitoba and are available through referral for all First Nations people who qualify for treatment. These treatments are used to reduce the risk of needing hospitalization in people who have symptoms and have tested positive for COVID-19. Early testing is key as treatment must begin within 5 to 7 days of symptoms developing. Manitobans are encouraged to seek testing as soon as symptoms develop and to contact your primary care provider, Health Center, Nursing Station or Health Links (204-788-8200 or 1-888-315-9257), if they meet the minimum eligibility criteria that include, but are not limited to:
- 18 years or older
- unvaccinated or partially vaccinated
- have a risk factor (smoking, diabetes) or chronic condition
Fully vaccinated Manitobans with a risk factor or chronic condition may also be eligible for treatment.
To find out if you qualify, contact your primary care provider, Health Center, Nursing Station or Health Links (204-788-2000 or 1-888-315-9257) or visit Treatment for Covid-19 to see if you’re eligible to receive treatment.
