The Peguis Surrender Claim Community Fund Trustees and Peguis Chief and Council have identified an expenditure that is of benefit to the beneficiary for Community Purposes under Trust Agreement section 8.2 (b) (iv) “to provide assistance to the Beneficiary in its community development and improvement initiatives, including… establishment or enhancement of recreational facilities owned by the Beneficiary.”

Upon recommendation of the Community Fund Trustees and the Peguis Chief and Council, that the Financial Trustees call a meeting of the Members to vote on the proposed Splash Pad Project application for funds up to $500,000.00, as required on any applications over $292,361.33 for 2019.

The Community Fund Trustees will also be hosting a survey of Members on a proposed amendment to the current Drug Policy for Community Projects on the removal of Cannabis from the current prohibited drug list. Only Members who are “electors” under the Indian Act shall be entitled to receive notice of, to attend at, and to vote at any general meeting of Members, concerning the Trust, the Trust property, or its administration.

200 Members are required to register to vote to ratify the proposed expenditure.
